About the author
Noel de Guzman is the author of several books, including the best-selling 100 Filipinos, a collection of inspiring biographies, as well as The Masters of Innovation and Reinvention. He has also published a Hong Kong travel guidebook.
Currently, he serves as the publisher of The Correspondent, a quarterly magazine produced by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong.
He is the founder and multi-awarded creative director of Artmazing!, a design consultancy with over 35 years of experience. Based in Hong Kong, he has worked as an art director for prominent publications such as Time Out, FinanceAsia, Hong Kong Tatler, and SCMP, as well as agencies JW Thompson and Leo Burnett. His client list includes brands like McDonald’s, Citi, IBM, HSBC, United Airlines, Shangri-La, KPMG, WHO, and many more, specializing in publishing, design, illustration, animation, and advertising.
De Guzman co-founded an e-commerce startup specializing in flash sales and also founded a visual arts website, both of which are now defunct.
He loves hiking daily and traveling to new destinations, where he finds inspiration for his creative work. Additionally, he enjoys reading non-fiction and typically consumes one book a week, constantly seeking to expand his knowledge and perspective.
He holds a BFA in Visual Communications from the University of the Philippines and has held ten solo art exhibitions across Southeast Asia. He is a former leader of the Filipino community in Hong Kong, having organized more than a hundred socio-civic events such as seminars, workshops, blood donation drives, charity walks, clean-up campaigns, sports events, and livelihood initiatives.
